The Pennsylvania voter registration deadline is October 21, 2024. Voters can apply online, by mailing a completed application, or in-person at a county voter registration office or other designated locations.

Eligibility

In order to register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen for at least one month before Election Day, a resident of Pennsylvania and the election district in which you want to register and vote for at least 30 days before Election Day, and at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day.

  • Even if you have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor or are in pretrial detention you may be able to vote. Click here for more information.
  • College students have a choice of whether they want to vote in Pennsylvania or vote in their home state. You may only be registered and vote at one location.

Vote-By-Mail Practices

  • The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is October 29, 2024 at 5pm by your county election board.
  • Your completed mail-in ballot must be received by your County Election Office by 8pm on Election Day in order to be counted.

Early Voting

Pennsylvania offers early voting.

  • You can vote early in-person beginning 50 days before an election (September 16, 2024). You can request, receive, vote and cast your mail-in or absentee ballot all in one visit to your county election board. Learn more here.

Election Day Practices

On Election Day, the polls are open 7am-8pm.
