Your voter registration application must be received on or by October 27, 2020, in order to be eligible to vote in the 2020 General Election.
Eligibility
In order to register to vote, you must be a US Citizen, a Delaware resident, and at least 18 years old by Election Day November 3, 2020.
- Convicted felons are allowed to vote if they have completed their sentence or were not convicted of a disqualifying felony. A list of disqualifying felonies can be found here.
- College students have a choice of whether they want to vote in Delaware or vote in their home state. You may only be registered and vote at one location.

Vote-By-Mail Practices
In Delaware, you must have a reason to be eligible to vote by mail. However, due to COVID-19, affected voters are eligible to vote by absentee ballot in the general election. - The deadline to request an absentee by-mail ballot is October 10, 2020.
- All absentee ballots must be received by 8pm on Election Day in order to be counted.
- Due to COVID-19, a voter should select the “sick or temporarily disabled” reason code when requesting an absentee ballot in this situation.

Delaware does not offer early voting.
Election Day Practices
On Election Day, the polls are open 7am-8pm.
