In order to register to vote, you must be a US Citizen, a Delaware resident, and at least 18 years old by Election Day November 3, 2020.

  • Convicted felons are allowed to vote if they have completed their sentence or were not convicted of a disqualifying felony. A list of disqualifying felonies can be found here.
  • College students have a choice of whether they want to vote in Delaware or vote in their home state. You may only be registered and vote at one location.

In Delaware, you must have a reason to be eligible to vote by mail. However, due to COVID-19, affected voters are eligible to vote by absentee ballot in the general election.   • The deadline to request an absentee by-mail ballot is October 10, 2020.
  • All absentee ballots must be received by 8pm on Election Day in order to be counted.
  • Due to COVID-19, a voter should select the “sick or temporarily disabled” reason code when requesting an absentee ballot in this situation.
