In order to register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Missouri, and at least 17 1/2 years of age.

  • College students do have a choice of whether they want to vote in Missouri or vote in their home state. You may only be registered and vote at one location.

Due to COVID-19, all Missouri voters may vote by mail for the November 3, 2020 General Election. All voters may vote absentee with a notarization of the ballot envelope, and voters in at-risk categories for contracting or transmitting COVID-19 are eligible to vote absentee by-mail without getting the envelope notarized.

Vote-By-Mail Practices

  • The deadline for your application for an absentee ballot to be received by the election authority is 5pm on October 21, 2020.
  • Your mail-in absentee ballot must be received by the election authority by the closing of the polls at 7pm on Election Day.

  • Voters requesting an absentee ballot by mail who have registered by mail and have not yet voted in person are required to submit a copy of their personal identification unless they provided a copy with their registration application.

On Election Day, the polls are open 6am-7pm.

  • At the polls, you must present a valid form of photo or non-photo ID. Acceptable forms of ID can be found here. If you do not have a form of photo ID or forget to bring one on Election Day, you can still cast a provisional ballot.
