Your voter registration application must be received 60 days prior to the next election.
Eligibility
In order to register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the Northern Mariana Islands for at least 120 days before election, be 18 by or on the next Election Day. You cannot vote if you were disqualified from voting due to a court order or you are currently serving a sentence including incarceration, parole, probation, or extended supervision for a felony conviction.
- If you have completed a felony sentence, including any term of incarceration, parole, supervision, period of probation, or you have been pardoned, then you are immediately eligible to register to vote
- College students have a choice of whether they want to vote in the Northern Mariana Islands or vote in their home state. You may only be registered and vote at one location.

The deadline to register to vote in Northern Mariana Islands for the General Election is September 4, 2026.

There are two methods of registering to vote in Northern Mariana Islands: mail in a printable application or a requested application or in-person at the Commonwealth Election Commission Office or with Election Commissioner.

Early Voting
The Northern Mariana Islands offers early voting.
- Early voting begins October 27, 2026 and ends November 2, 2026.
Election Day Practices
On Election Day, the polls are open 7am-7pm.
- Each voter shall be required to show photo ID at the polls in order to receive a ballot; if the voter does not have or refuses to produce photo ID, the voter shall fill out an affidavit.
