The Oklahoma voter registration deadline is October 9, 2026. Voters can register to vote online, in-person, or by mailing a completed application.
Eligibility
In order to register to vote in Oklahoma, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Oklahoma, at least 17 1/2 years old, not currently serving a sentence for a felony conviction, and not judged incapacitated by a court.
- If you are 17 1/2 years old and meet all other eligibility requirements, you may pre-register to vote.
- College students have a choice of whether they want to vote in Oklahoma or vote in their home state. You may only be registered and vote at one location.

Deadline
The deadline to register to vote in Oklahoma for the 2026 midterm election is October 9, 2026, which is 25 days before the election. Voter registration forms submitted by mail must be postmarked 25 days before the election.
Voter Registration Process
There are three methods of voter registration in Oklahoma: online registration, mailing in a completed printable application, or in-person.
- Oklahoma residents are not registered voters until their county election board has approved their application. When an application is approved, the county election board will mail residents a voter identification card.
- Residents can register to vote in-person at their County Election Board office, their local tag agency, or certain public assistance agencies.

Vote-By-Mail Practices

- The deadline to request an absentee ballot is by 5pm on the third Monday before the Election Day (October 21, 2024).
- Your completed absentee ballot must be received by the county election board before 7pm on Election Day in order to be counted.
- To apply for an absentee ballot, state law requires voters to provide an identification number that matches the identification number on their voter registration record.

Early Voting
Oklahoma offers early voting.
- Early voting takes place the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before an election from 8am-6pm, and the Saturday before the election from 8am-2pm.
Election Day Practices
On Election Day, the polls are open 7am-7pm.
- In order to vote in Oklahoma, you must present a valid form of photo ID or your county election board voter identification card. More information about acceptable forms of ID can be found here. If you do not have a valid ID, you may prove your identity by signing a sworn affidavit and cast a provisional ballot.
