The Pennsylvania voter registration deadline is October 20, 2025 Voters can register to vote online, in-person, or by mailing a completed application.
Eligibility
In order to register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen for at least one month before Election Day, a resident of Pennsylvania and the election district where you plan to register for at least 30 days before Election Day, and at least 18 years old on or before Election Day.

- College students have a choice of whether they want to vote in Pennsylvania or vote in their home state, but they may only be registered and vote at one location.

Deadline
The deadline to register to vote in Pennsylvania for the 2025 general election is October 20, 2025, which is 15 days before the election. Voter registration forms submitted by mail must be received 15 days before the election.
Voter Registration Process
There are three methods of voter registration in Pennsylvania: online registration, mailing in a completed printable application, and in-person.

Vote-By-Mail Practices

- The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is October 29, 2024 at 5pm by your county election board.
- Your completed mail-in ballot must be received by your County Election Office by 8pm on Election Day in order to be counted.

Early Voting
Pennsylvania offers early voting.
- You can vote early in-person beginning 50 days before an election (September 16, 2024). You can request, receive, vote and cast your mail-in or absentee ballot all in one visit to your county election board. Learn more here.
