Eligibility

In order to register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the U.S. Virgin Islands, be 18 years of age by Election Day, not be a convicted felon who has not been discharged or pardoned, not have been adjudged mentally incompetent as to your ability to vote by a court of competent jurisdiction, and not be registered to vote elsewhere.

  • In order to register to vote, you must present your birth certificate, U.S. passport, DD214 military discharge form, or naturalization certificate.
  • College students have a choice of whether they want to vote in the U.S. Virgin Islands or vote in their home state. You may only be registered and vote at one location.

Deadline

The deadline to register to vote in the U.S. Virgin Islands for the General Election is October 6, 2024.

Vote-By-Mail Practices

Early Voting

The U.S Virgin Islands offers early voting.

  • Early voting begins October 22, 2024 and goes until October 2, 2024. The hours for early voting depends on the location and is not available at this moment.

Election Day Practices

On Election Day, the polls are open 7am-7pm.

  • In order to vote in U.S. Virgin Islands, you only need to show an ID if you are a first time voter. Acceptable forms of ID include: voter ID card, which is issued when you register to vote and can be replaced for a small fee, driver’s license, U.S. passport, or any other government-issued ID.
